Industrial Zones

Industrial Zones can usually look a tad dry and boring so this was a fun little project to work on for Ipswitch, QLD - a waste energy recycling power plant. The concept comes from a German company called Remondis and is a great initiative to turn all waste products into energy for over 50,000 homes in the region. You can check out some of the visuals I did for the project below.

I also did a warehouse in Melbourne which is in a similar vein recently and thought id keep the industrial zone work together.

Orabel Apartments

Working on lots of interiors lately so in the spirit of things here is some of my latest works with a few kitchens that were the focus of a new development going up in Melbourne on the water front. I love the interior designers choice on this project and the way they integrate the sea colours with their Scandinavian style apartments.

Freelance News

News regarding my new living arrangement - I am now working remotely as a freelance archviz artist. I am loving the change of pace, in fact working on lots of new things and finally getting to R&D Railclone a lot more, I will post some free resources when I get the chance for any of those who are looking to get up to speed with Railclone - its fantastic! In the mean time I have produced a couple of new renders you can check out below. This is for a great client of mine who was looking for a photo montage of some new townhouses to go up in Melbourne.

Riverdale

We recently finished a 3 month project at Mazer. This was our first attempt at rendering animation with Corona, and it was a lot of fun to say the least. We had a full team on this one, I was the Technical Director and Stuart Wilson lead the Art Direction. A big thanks to the talented artists working on this - Andy Soria, Mauricio Coral, Tom Evans & Chris Edwards. Photography and drone footage provided by Urban Angles

Forestpro Fun

Over the last 12 months we have been producing a few masterplans & aerials. So we have been able to use forestpro and it makes the creative work a lot more intuitive and fun for the artist. We actually look forward to creating a garden design or just add variety to the environment. Here is a little evolution of our work at Mazer. Thanks to Mauricio Coral, Andy Soria, Chealse Vo, Stuart Wilson & Thomas Evans for your hard work on these images!

Daytime Facades

Well its been a busy few months so Its about time for an update as to what we have been up to at Mazer. We have focused on a new tier category for House Facades which include little details such as mixed blend materials for rendered surfaces and metals, custom gardens, new material system for plants (thanks to Juraj's tutorial here), new lighting setup using Peter Guthrie's HDRI skies and utilizing Corona's Lightmixer for amazing interactive results - especially during the R&D stage. A big thanks to Chealse Vo for her constant and amazing post production work - and the collaboration of the Mazer team and our client for letting us take creative direction on these images. Here are the results

The Last Vray...

Wellington Street, St Kilda

The final rendering delivered with Vray. I like the composition on this shot. This is the last of my Vray works for now, I may come back in the near future depending on how things go for us with Corona. Render times are still a bit long and still missing a few important features like light selects, however I think its pretty good for daily use. Post work produced by Stuart Wilson from UA Creative.

Corona Facade

This image is a set of 4, the only one of which was done in Corona for comparison (Facade 4). The lighting is a bit earlier in the evening compared to the others but we wanted to create a different feel for the more contemporary house. This is my first production render with Corona for an external. The materials were created fresh for the scene, all the vegetation was done with ForestPro and Growfx. Ill be learning more of GrowFX as the seeding allows you to create completely unique trees each time. I wanted to add a foreground tree but for the clients purpose we wanted to show the projection to the left side. Stuart Wilson worked on the Post Production for this.

1 Collings Street

Just finished working on a great project with Archestral Designs Pty Ltd. Credits to Chealse Vo for the amazing post production work and Adele Bates for the Interior Styling. I wish we could have kept the flowers in the living room!

Raw renders for comparison

Heres a sneak peak of what Ill be posting to my blog in the next update. A new rendering method (based on vlado's recent youtube video), a lighting/camera setup based on the new 3ds max physical camera/HDRI setup and vray 3.2, the new Rayfire bricks modifier to add cladding/matrix/brick modelling detail to any floor, wall or ceiling, and some quick texturing methods to randomise your entire scene in minutes using multitexture and random id's.
